Happy Birthday Henry!

My baby boy is two today! It is crazy how fast time flies. Here is a link to some of his birthday pictures: http://tamijohnsonphotography.com/blog/2010/09/14/happy-birthday-baby-boy/ .We got him a basketball goal for his birthday and Stephen was so excited he gave it to him last night. Henry obviously loves it. He woke up at 6 am this morning and the first word out of his mouth was "ball". He took my hand and walked to his room to get his goal. We brought it in the living room and if he hasn't been playing with it, he has been sitting beside it all morning! I will have to post a few pics later.

Oh, Toodles

I have decided to resurrect this blog! We stay so busy that I just never take the time to blog about our day to day activities. Then I get so upset with myself when I forget something Henry has said or done that I swore I wouldn't forget. So, with that said I have decided to make time to blog about our life.
Henry has gotten really interested in some of the shows on Playhouse Disney. Particularly, Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. His favorite part in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is Toodles. He walks around saying "oh, toodles" all the time and every time he colors I have to draw toodles on his paper!

This morning I was making pancakes for breakfast before Stephen left for clinicals. As I was cooking Stephen and I were talking and decided it would be fun to make Henry's pancakes in the shape of toodles. I just happened to have a teddy bear shaped cookie cutter that resembles Toodles. I think Henry loved it! Unfortunately, I didn't capture his very first reaction as the other pancakes were burning, but I did get some photos of him. He kept saying "oh, toodles" and giggling with each bite! I think we will have to have Toodles for breakfast more often!

Nine Months

Henry had his nine month check-up today. He weighed 25 pounds and 13 ounces. He weighed 25 pounds 8 ounces about one month ago when we had to take him to the doctor for allergies. Maybe he is starting to slow down! He is already in 24 month clothing and I am hoping he will stay in that size longer than he has stayed in the rest! Anyway, he is able to start whole milk now. I guess we will try that tomorrow. I didn't get his height or head circumference this visit. Usually they give me a paper with all of that on it and they didn't this time. I may have to call and ask so that I can write it in his baby book. He is just growing up way too fast! He has sat up from a laying down position twice over the past few days. I hope I am able to catch it on video soon. He doesn't do any of his tricks for the camera! Here is a picture of Henry on his nine month birthday.

Happy Father's Day

Yesterday was Stephen's first Father's Day. I think it was a pretty good day for him. Henry gave him a card that he chewed up and a picture of him spelling out DaDa. After that we went to Collins to have lunch with my Dad and to the nursing home to spend the afternoon with my grandfather.

Stephen is such a wonderful Daddy. He deserved to have a day to be celebrated. He plays such an active role in Henry's life. He loves to be the one that feeds Henry at night and gives him his bath. I always know that on Saturdays I get to sleep late because he loves having Henry to himself for breakfast time. I have always heard that you marry someone like your own father. I guess that is true (at least in my case) because my Dad has always been just as involved in mine and my sisters' lives as Stephen is in Henry's. I am so blessed to have such awesome men in my life!

Water Baby

Last Friday we had lunch with our good friends, The Gill's, at P.F. Chang's. Afterwards, we took the kids over to play on the splash pad at the Renaissance. This was Henry's second time to go to the splash pad. He absolutely LOVES the water. He thinks it is funny when the water hits him. I am pretty sure he laughed the whole time we were there. He was the only one of the three kids that screamed and cried when it was time to go! (I hope that wasn't a preview of things to come!) We had so much fun spending time with Nathan, Jennifer, Noah and Ava. We are going to be so sad when they move next week.

Time to Eat

Henry has gotten very vocal about being hungry. Last night while Stephen was trying to get Henry's food ready Henry got pretty angry. So, Stephen decided to give him his bottle just to see what he would do. He seems to know how the formula comes out, but he's just a little too lazy to lift the bottle up!

New Toy

Henry found a new toy on Sunday. He seems to really like it and I must admit that I kind of feel the same! It is pretty entertaining and it keeps him confined to one area.
